WHO ARE WE?

 

The studio at Ashby Rise is the working studio of Southern Highlands artists Jan Pooley-Hibberd and Holly Mitchell.

 

We are associates who share a love for art and work with multiple mediums.

 

WHY WE CREATE?

As artist we create to express ourselves, our ideas and beliefs. Being inspired by the environment around us.

 

We wish to experience and share our art with others.

 

As artists we need a space to dream, create, inspire and to be inspired. The Art Studio at Ashby Rise gives us this space and the opportunity to showcase our artworks.

MEET THE ARTISTS

JAN POOLEY-HIBBERD

I am excited by the many options that I can employ for art making. Oil, gouache, acrylic, watercolour and technology give me enormous flexibility.

My landscapes (watercolour) are my signature works and many are enjoyed in homes and private collections in the Southern Highland and beyond.

HOLLY MITCHELL

​

I am an emerging artist. Currently studying Visual Art and Design at The University of Wollongong. I work with acrylic, gouache, sculpture and photography. 

I have an interest in capturing the themes and images of life's fragility and social issues, prompting the viewer to think about the meaning of life.
